How to play 2048

Swipe (or use the arrow buttons) to move every tile in one direction. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one. A new tile appears after each move. The game ends when the board is full with no merges left.

The winning strategy — the "corner" method

1. Pick one corner (e.g. bottom-right) and always keep your biggest tile there.
2. Only use two directions mostly (e.g. down and right) so your big tile never moves away from the corner.
3. Build a "snake" of descending numbers along the bottom row.
4. Never swipe up (if your corner is at the bottom) unless you absolutely have to.

Common mistakes to avoid

Don't chase small merges all over the board, and don't swipe randomly when stuck — slow down and plan. Patience beats speed in 2048.
